Congressman and civil rights champion John Lewis described voting as the “ultimate nonviolent instrument for social and political change in a democracy.”
Over the years, our Social Justice Council has educated our UUFG Fellowship and the larger community on voting rights. This year, we are bringing Aaron Klein from the Supervisor of Elections Office to talk about voting rights and becoming a poll worker.
There is no better way to prove that elections are run honestly and fairly than by being part of the process. You can do this as a voter, and if you have the time and interest, as a poll worker. Aaron will guide you through both processes in our January 25th service as we all gear up for midterm elections this Fall. Sheila Bishop services as worship associate, and James Chase reads our story for all ages. Tane’ DeKrey provides music.
