Bookkeeper

Part-time hourly contract position, budgeted for an average of 8 hours per month. Pay is $25/hour.

We are a small to midsize church with around 155 members. Currently we have eight people on payroll, mostly part-time employees.

Hours are flexible. Some data entry (e.g., payroll) is time sensitive, and sometimes the bookkeeper needs to coordinate overlapping time with the Congregational Administrator. However, the Bookkeeper typically sets their own hours: morning, afternoon or evening. The bookkeeper typically is on site two or three times per month. This position is not remote, but a key to the office is provided.

Software: We use Church Windows software to manage our accounting, donations and payroll needs. Background experience with Church Windows is not required, though experience with church/non-profit bookkeeping software is desirable. We will provide training in how to use Church Windows.

Duties include:

  • Entering contribution data from
    • Sunday collections and mailed receipts – this donation data involves using forms and records provided by volunteers who facilitate weekly deposits
    • Online donations – this donation data requires logging into our online payment platform provider’s website and downloading appropriate reports. Information from the reports are then entered into the donations module.
  • Entering payroll data on a monthly basis. We have a mix of salaried and hourly employees
  • Calculating tax payments and ensuring monthly payments to the IRS and filing quarterly 941 forms
  • Managing end-of-year taxes, including creating W2 and 1099 forms

Childcare Providers

Our Fellowship seeks childcare providers to help look after babies and children primarily on Sunday mornings through early-afternoons depending on scheduled events. More occasionally, we may seek childcare help for events scheduled during the week.

Starting on Sunday, September 3, typical Sunday hours run from 9:45 am to sometime between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, depending on afternoon programming. We ask for a minimum commitment of two Sundays per month from our childcare providers. 

Salary is $17/hour.
