Our third Folk Singing Circle of the summer will gather at UUFG in the Phillips Social Hall, at 7 pm Thursday August 6. We’ll go for about an hour and a half. The last two, in June and July, went really well. Please bring a song to sing (either in your head, or on paper). Many of the songs we’ll sing can be found in the Rise Up Singing book (ISBN 0-9626704-7-2), a popular folk music fake book with 1200 songs, containing chords, lyrics, and sources. For information about Rise Up Singing, click HERE.
We’ll sing songs by ear, mostly unaccompanied, or with my guitar. Lyrics will be available, but not the sheet music. There’ll be some beer available, together with a non-alcoholic alternative. Please bring some of your favorite kind of drink if possible.
Here are some examples of folk songs that work great for this kind of setting:

We’re looking forward to group singing while the choir is out for the summer! All welcome!
