Madelyn Moyer will lead us in discussions of our Common Read for this winter, My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies, by Resmaa Meakem.

The author says the body is where our instincts reside and where we fight, flee, or freeze, and it endures the trauma inflicted by the ills that plague society. Menakem, a therapist, examines the damage caused by racism and introduces an alternative view of what we can do to grow beyond the racialized divide. Get your copy at the Book Cart after an “in person” service or email Paul Hargrave to order (hargrave.paul@gmail.com).

Book discussions via Zoom will be led by Madelyn Moyer on February 13, February 27, and March 13, 1:30—3:00 pm. Contact Mary Bahr (kmlisle.mary@gmail.com) for the link.
