Sunday Morning

Sunday morning is the heart of our community. We gather at 11 a.m. to challenge our spirits and intellects, respond to the demands of justice, celebrate those things that are of worth, and deepen our connections of caring and trust.

As you enter our Sanctuary’s foyer, friendly greeters are available to address your questions or give assistance. You’ll receive a copy of our weekly Gazette with details of coming activities for your future consideration.

Families are particularly welcome! Children share the first part of the service in the Sanctuary with their parents until it’s time for their religious education (RE) programs. About once a month adults and children share an entire service on an appropriate theme. Greeters can provide information about RE or the nursery care available for the littlest ones. Your children may also remain with you during the service. There is a comfortable Window Room at the back of the Sanctuary where lively toddlers or infants can play more freely while parents view and hear the service.

Unitarian Universalist services vary as we honor the diverse principles and sources that shape our living tradition. In general, you’ll experience excellent choral and piano music, story wisdom for all ages, congregational singing, readings from ancient and contemporary sources, and a sermon or presentation from our minister or a guest speaker. We invite your generosity with our weekly offertory, supporting both our Fellowship programs and various social justice causes.

The service ends around noon – but the morning is far from over. Coffee, snacks, and conversation in the Phillips Hall adjacent to the Sanctuary offer an opportunity to deepen your morning’s experience. A large playground provides your children with time to run and play. Newcomers are encouraged to stop by the green-clothed table in Phillips Hall where a member of the congregation can provide information and introduce you to new friends.

The Sunday service is a great place to begin learning about Unitarian Universalism or our Fellowship. Be assured that, whatever your background or heritage, whomever you love, there is a place for you at UU.

Sermon CDs

CDs of the Sunday services are available in the Common Room for check-out.

The Common Room is the first room in the administration building, just down the covered walkway on the south side of the Sanctuary building. You’ll find CDs (and cassette tapes of older services) in a cabinet on the right wall. To sign one out, just follow the easy instructions on the clipboard.
