Sunday Service, November 28

How to Respond to Darkness With Light

This Sunday, we welcome guest speaker Sivan Rotholz. She writes, “With each night of Hanukkah, we are invited to light one more candle than the night before, increasing light in the world. Rooted in ancient traditions, the "Festival of Lights" is about food and family, community and culture, illumination and joy. But, from its inception, the lighting of Hanukkah candles has been about more than miraculous oil or the unlikely story of a people's triumph. Arriving in the depth of winter, Hanukkah invites us to be a light in the face of darkness, to play an active role in illuminating a dark world.”

Mary Anthony serves as worship associate, and Heather Arata provides our story for all ages. Prelude music by Dr. Thomas Royal begins at around 10:50 am. Childcare is provided, but please be sure to reserve a seat for your child.

Seating is limited. Please use this link to register to attend:

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning is the heart of our community. We gather at 11 a.m. to challenge our spirits and intellects, respond to the demands of justice, celebrate those things that are of worth, and deepen our connections of caring and trust.

As you enter our Sanctuary’s foyer, friendly greeters are available to address your questions or give assistance. You’ll receive a copy of our weekly Gazette with details of coming activities for your future consideration.

Families are particularly welcome! Children share the first part of the service in the Sanctuary with their parents until it’s time for their religious education (RE) programs. About once a month adults and children share an entire service on an appropriate theme. Greeters can provide information about RE or the nursery care available for the littlest ones. Your children may also remain with you during the service. There is a comfortable Window Room at the back of the Sanctuary where lively toddlers or infants can play more freely while parents view and hear the service.

Sermon CDs

CDs of the Sunday services are available in the Common Room for check-out.

The Common Room is the first room in the administration building, just down the covered walkway on the south side of the Sanctuary building. You’ll find CDs (and cassette tapes of older services) in a cabinet on the right wall. To sign one out, just follow the easy instructions on the clipboard.
