Introducing “Books and Cooks,” a curriculum designed by fellow educators to teach kids the importance of other cultures by making connections through food! Twice a month, our children and youth will learn to make a tasty recipe while listening to or reading a story connected to the food they are eating. The recipes range from rice balls and sushi to apple pie and tacos. There is even one involving vegemite!
This curriculum is an excellent opportunity to prepare the kids for next year when we will be exploring World Religions. It is easily adaptable to the variable class sizes we experience in the summer and is accessible to all ages. It does not require a full kitchen, just a few choice electric appliances, so lessons can still be taught in the classroom.
We are very excited and can’t wait until our first class, June 10th. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the RE department.
Blessings,

Religious Education Registration
All children and adolescents involved in any Religious Education program at UUFG, including Youth Group, must have a current, updated, registration form filled out and on file.
A new registration form needs to be filled out annually or whenever a child’s living situation changes. Any time new people wish to attend UUFG Religious Education classes, they can register.
Parents, children and youth do NOT need to be members of UUFG to register for and participate in UUFG Religious Education and Youth Group programs.
