Charitable Bequests

  • Are one of the easiest ways to give.
  • Keep your financial options open during your lifetime.
  • Are not subject to Estate Tax.

Types of Charitable Bequests

  • Unrestricted
    • For general purposes
  • Restricted
    • Campaign Gifts
    • UUA Endowment
    • Any Specific Program or Fund
  • Specific Amount
    "I give $xxx.xx to the UUA."
  • A Specific Percent
    "I give XX% of my estate to the UUA."
  • A Residuary Amount
    "I give xx% of my remaining assets of any kind to the UUA."

Assets you can give by bequest

  • Cash
  • Stock and Mutual Funds
  • Bonds
  • Real Estate
  • Other property of value (jewelry, royalties, art)
