How to Respond to Darkness With Light

This Sunday, we welcome guest speaker Sivan Rotholz. She writes, “With each night of Hanukkah, we are invited to light one more candle than the night before, increasing light in the world. Rooted in ancient traditions, the "Festival of Lights" is about food and family, community and culture, illumination and joy. But, from its inception, the lighting of Hanukkah candles has been about more than miraculous oil or the unlikely story of a people's triumph. Arriving in the depth of winter, Hanukkah invites us to be a light in the face of darkness, to play an active role in illuminating a dark world.”

Mary Anthony serves as worship associate, and Heather Arata provides our story for all ages. Prelude music by Dr. Thomas Royal begins at around 10:50 am. Childcare is provided, but please be sure to reserve a seat for your child.
