About Our Sermons

About our Sermons

Sermons are a way to discuss and think about our faith in a public context.  On their own, they can be an introduction to some of the views held by Unitarian Universalists.

Below are sermons from our minister, Rev. Meredith Garmon, several lay speakers, our former minister Rev. LoraKimJoyner, and other guest ministers.

Virtue, Vice, and Economic Advice
Written by Rev. LoraKim Joyner

What kind of economic straits would the world be in if Wall Street gurus were members of our very own congregation, corporation boards were run by congregational Boards of Trustees, and presidential economic advisors were Unitarian Universalist ministers? Can we manage our stock portfolios, keep our jobs, and survive on covenantal faith alone?

This Week's Season Log and Guiding Source: This is the 12th Sunday of Spring and we focus on our 5th UU Source: Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit.
