The President's Perspective -- May 2016

This church year is passing fast and many things are happening. [Click "Read more..." to continue.]

First, the Governing Board has set a Town Hall Meeting for June 12th after the service to discuss plans for flooring in the Sanctuary and Administration building. Everyone is invited to come hear the results of our research. We hope to have a decision at the next Board meeting.

Second, the Board is hosting a planning retreat on June 18th from 9:30 to 2:00. We will look at our two remaining developmental goals and decide which to work on in the coming year. We will also review the years’ calendar and decide on dates for major events so that we can reserve space in the Fellowship before it gets taken by some other organization. And we will have a chance for incoming and outgoing leaders to meet and learn more about each other. If you have an interest in any of these items, please join us at the retreat.

Third, the Board was pleased to learn that a Peace Pole will be installed and dedicated on our grounds on September 25. We thank Aaron Broadwell for providing a translation that lets us put the words of peace on the pole in the Timucuan language, as well as several other languages.

And finally, now that our new roof is up, we ask everyone to tread carefully until we are sure that all the nails have been located and removed from the grounds.

In fellowship,
