The Foundation is a trust fund which was established in 1982, and operates as an agent of the Fellowship. Its purpose is to receive money, invest, and make grants to strengthen liberal religious causes, in accordance with the stated mission of the Fellowship.

UUA Legacy Society
  • A bequest recognition society for people who have a gift for the UUA in their estate plans, including bequests, trusts, and other deferred gifts.
  • Over 840 Unitarian Universalists are members of the UUA Legacy Society.
  • We honor members at every General Assembly with special events and remember those who have died in a video memorial during one of the plenaries.
  • And we promote the UUA Legacy Society to encourage others to make planned gifts.
Foundation Grant Application

The Foundation has a 2018 Fall Grants Cycle, with $4900 available for projects that advance the mission of UUFG.  (Please keep in mind that Foundation grants cannot be used for UUFG ongoing operating expenses.) The Spring 2018 Foundation Grant applications attached below can still be used.

During the spring cycle the following projects received funding:

  • Westwood Middle School Food 4 Kids Backpacks
  • Sanctuary Sound System Upgrades
  • Altar Cloths (a UUFG youth initiative!)
  • Courtyard Renewal Project (Phase 1)

How do you get a grant?

  1. Pick up a grant form (from one of the Foundation Directors or from the rack in the admin hallway- across from the office)
  2. Work with one of the committee chairs to complete it. (You'll need their signature.)
  3. Give (or email) your completed grant application to one of the Foundation Directors or leave it in the Foundation mailbox in the mailroom opposite the office by October 14.

If not all of the current grant allotment is committed, another application cycle is probably in the spring.
